Workers Supplemental Income Benefit Program

Workers Supplemental Income Benefits

If the injured worker has been given an impairment rating of 15% or more, then she will be entitled to an additional level of benefits that begin once her IIBS have been paid in full. The Supplemental Income Benefit program operates similarly to unemployment insurance, to the extent that if an injured worker is unable to earn a certain percentage of her pre-injury wage, then as long as she makes a good-faith effort to find a job that she is able to perform, she will continue to receive a portion of her lost wages. This is a very valuable benefit program and highlights the need to make sure that injured workers receive proper impairment ratings.
